Founder's Remarks
11.1.06

Good afternoon, everyone. I'm Lisa Hill DiFusco, President & Founder of The LightHeart Institute. Thank you for joining us to celebrate an exciting new stage in LightHeart's history.

It's been nearly 20 years since I founded LightHeart with the intent to help individuals and companies discover the art of possibility and achieve optimal health, renewal and prosperity.

Many people in the arts and cultural district refer to 20 North Goodman Street as The Castle because of its unique architectural design. The renovation work has returned this multi-use structure, previously a historic East Avenue mansion, to its former glory.

Our new headquarters include 2000 square feet of character and charm built 150 years ago. Its 11 foot ceilings, stained glass windows, marble floors, multiple fireplaces, grand stairway and large conference room are magnificent!

This space was chosen to inspire and keep us focused on the work of LightHeart - which is helping people become their very best selves through Executive Coaching, Leadership Development, Holistic Psychotherapy and Holistic Health.

Now our location truly reflects LightHeart's vision for our work and our community: to create an upward spiral of positive economic growth and development benefiting Rochester for generations to come.

Introduction of government officials

  • New York State Senator Joseph Robach

  • Economic Development Commissioner Carlos Carballada from the City of Rochester

  • Manager of Faith Based and Community Initiatives, Mr. Melvin Walczak from Monroe County to help with our official ribbon-cutting.

We have been investing in the City of Rochester and it is our intent to invest in the city all the more and to mirror the renaissance vision of our government leaders.

Senator Robach works tirelessly to advance legislation in Albany to help employers retain and grow jobs.

Commissioner Carballada brings extensive business management and banking experience to his new role in Mayor Duffy's administration. Mr. Carballada is focused on creating business growth and investment in the city...You can count The LightHeart Institute as another "win".

And Melvin Walczak works to strengthen the role of faith-based and community-based organizations in addressing the social needs of Monroe County.

Gentlemen, would you like to say a few words?

PLEASE JOIN ME IN CUTTING THE RIBBON AND OFFICIALLY OPENING THE LIGHTHEART INSTITUTE.

We also wish to express our appreciation to the following artists for their contribution in restoring The Castle:

Mr. Scott Allen, Painter

Mr. Dave Furnwood, All Natural Wood

Mr. John Kerry, The Finishing Touch

Ms. Michelle Lynch, Faux Illusions

Mr. Don Taylor, for shining our marble floors

Ms. Tracy Dunham & Ms. Ellen Smith, Decor

I invite everyone to enjoy our wonderful space
and have some refreshments.

Thank you all for coming. Enjoy the open house!
