The Ideal Workplace
When thinking about increasing productivity and profitability we can't resist thinking about Stephen R. Covey's infamous words: "Begin with the end in mind". Here is our ideal vision for a work environment.
We envision an organization where trust abounds and acts as a steady anchor both on personal and interpersonal levels fostering a foundation for an upward spiral - a self-generating, self-sustaining energy force which drives higher productivity, profitability and a happier workforce.
Senior executives provide a clear, well articulated vision. They engender confidence in their employees as they know they are capable of fulfilling their vision. Management is fully empowered, and as such empowers their subordinates with ample resources and authority to make effective decisions. They provide clearly marked territory for the playing field and practice servant leadership dissolving perceived obstacles. They foster an environment where team members simultaneously achieve their goals and have fun. They provide a beautiful work atmosphere incorporating green and feng shui principles.
Employees are engaged in meaningful work, have ownership mentality and genuinely look forward to going to work each day knowing they are making a difference. They experience a sense of belonging to the team, and feel valued, recognized and appreciated for their contribution. They experience acceptance, knowing it is ok to make mistakes, and hold themselves accountable for their accomplishments. They believe management has their best interest at heart and they in turn hold their co-worker's best interest at heart. They feel grateful for the opportunities their employer provides inviting their best contribution. They act and work with confidence.
There is alignment throughout all aspects of the organization. An upward spiral of financial gain and prosperity for all stakeholders naturally results. Company owners and employees alike are better people for having worked together to achieve a common mission.
