Remember, growth is a process, not an event. Working with a skilled therapist doesn't mean that your problems will go away overnight. It does mean that within a short period of time (less than a month) you should be feeling better, seeing options you didn’t see prior and seeing the beginning of improvement in the areas mentioned.

Holistic Psychotherapy is about healing emotional wounds and completing unmet childhood needs. From the time you were born until the time you became an adult you experienced several emotional developmental stages. To the degree that your needs were met in each of these phases by your caregivers, your happiness, inner peace, accomplishments and feelings of satisfaction in your adult life were influenced. Emotional health determines who you marry, how much money you earn, the quality of your relationships, your satisfaction with your professional career, the level of your contribution to society and your peace of mind. Counseling helps you to complete your developmental stages so you don't unconsciously play them out in your personal and professional life.
2. To fulfill your potential
You were born to learn how to get good at having a good life. "Problems" that you experience serve as "informants" letting you know what needs to be resolved so you can live a more fulfilled, happier life. They help you know what needs to happen for you to improve the quality of your life experience.
Many people create problems and solve those problems only to create more problems to solve those problems. When you work with a skilled therapist you learn the tools to help you resolve issues once and for all so you can create the life of your dreams.
3. To increase your children and your children's children's happiness
Unresolved emotional issues pass down generation to generation until or unless someone steps forward and breaks the cycle. Unknowingly and unintentionally we pass down to our children patterns and themes that express our unmet emotional needs from childhood. It has been said that the greatest gift a parent can give, is his or her own emotional health and vitality. No matter how old you are or how old your children are, as you heal your life, your children will experience greater emotional calm and well-being. It is never too late.
4. To contribute to others
When human beings heal emotional wounds they very naturally want to help others and make a difference in the world. When you heal your life it becomes natural to ask, "What form of expression will my healing take place in the world?"
No one has to offer the world what you have to offer the world. If you do not offer it, it will not be given. The more you heal you, the more capable you are and the more meaningful your contribution.
People come to counseling for one of two reasons: problem resolution or personal growth. When you meet with a skilled therapist you are meeting with someone who is trained and knows how to confer and deliberate issues, how to think about and how to set a context for feelings that you may have - desperation, anxiety, uncertainty, depression, confusion, etc...
Counseling begins with clarifying what is most important to you and then establishes a framework illuminating how you can achieve your goals.
Most sessions last an hour. You and your therapist will determine the level of frequency that will be most effective helping you achieve your goals.
